01 / Overview
The short version
Your relationship content is yours. Day With You does not require an account and does not transmit your names, relationship date, birthdays, memory text, or memory photos to a developer-operated server. Data used by advertising services is a separate category and may be processed by Google as described below.
This Privacy Policy describes how Day With You handles information when you use the iOS app and this website. “We,” “us,” and “Day With You” refer to the app’s developer. Third-party services, Apple features, and storage locations you select are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
| Category | Where it goes | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship profile, dates, memories, photos, settings | Stored locally on your device | To provide the app’s core features |
| Widget snapshot | Stored in the app’s shared iOS App Group container | To display the counter in widgets |
| Exported backup | The location you choose in Apple’s file picker | To let you keep, transfer, and restore your data |
| Advertising and diagnostics data | May be processed by Google Mobile Ads and its partners | To deliver, measure, secure, and personalize ads where permitted |
| Purchase information | Processed by Apple through the App Store | To complete and restore the Remove Ads purchase |
02 / Local app data
Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use Day With You, the app may store the following locally:
- Names, display labels, birthdays, profile photos, and relationship dates.
- Memories, including titles, captions, dates, photos, and display preferences.
- Counter style, background selections, privacy preferences, archive state, and other settings.
- A minimized widget snapshot containing only the information needed to render your selected widget presentation.
This content is used to operate features you request. It is not uploaded to a Day With You user account because the app does not provide one.
Photos
When you choose an image using Apple’s system photo picker, Day With You receives the selected image so it can be used in your profile or memories. The app does not need unrestricted access to your full photo library simply to use a selected photo.
App Lock, PIN, and biometrics
If you enable App Lock, your PIN credential is stored using the iOS Keychain. Face ID or Touch ID authentication is performed by iOS. Day With You receives only the authentication result and does not receive or store your biometric data.
03 / Backups & sharing
You decide where a backup goes
Day With You can export your app content as a .dwybackup file. The file is created on your device and saved or shared using Apple’s system interface. You choose the destination, which may include local storage, iCloud Drive, another cloud provider, AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or another app.
Once a backup leaves Day With You, the destination provider or recipient controls that copy under their own privacy and security practices. Backup files may contain private relationship details and photos. Store them only in places you trust, avoid sending them to support, and delete old copies you no longer need.
When importing with merge, Day With You validates the supported backup format and combines the imported records with data already on the device. Review the in-app summary before confirming. Keep a current backup until you have verified the result.
Important: deleting the app’s local data does not delete backup files you saved elsewhere. Those files must be removed separately from the location where you stored them.
04 / Advertising
How the free version uses Google Mobile Ads
The free version of Day With You displays banner and interstitial ads through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and whether Apple’s tracking permission has been granted, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as:
- Device or advertising identifiers and IP-derived approximate location.
- Ad interactions and product interactions, such as impressions and taps.
- Crash information, performance data, and other diagnostics.
- Information used for third-party advertising, first-party advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service operation.
Personalized advertising is shown only where the relevant consent and platform permissions allow it. You may be shown non-personalized or limited ads when personalization is not available. Day With You provides an Advertising Privacy Choices option in Settings when Google requires the privacy options form to be available.
For more information, review Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure guidance and the Google Privacy Policy.
05 / Purchases
Remove Ads is handled by Apple
Day With You offers a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Remove Ads. Purchases, payment details, transaction records, refunds, and entitlement restoration are handled by Apple and the App Store. Day With You checks Apple’s verified StoreKit entitlement to decide whether ads should be hidden; it does not receive your full payment card information.
You can restore the purchase in the app’s Settings on another device signed in to the same Apple Account, subject to Apple’s App Store rules.
06 / This website
A simple website without behavioral analytics
This website does not include our own analytics, advertising pixels, account system, or contact form, and it does not intentionally set tracking cookies. The hosting infrastructure may process ordinary technical request data—such as IP address, user agent, time, and requested page—to deliver, protect, and operate the site. External links, including Apple and Google links, are governed by those providers.
07 / Your choices
Controls available to you
- Advertising consent: open Settings → Advertising Privacy Choices when that option is available.
- Tracking permission: manage Day With You under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Remove advertising: purchase Remove Ads once, or restore an existing entitlement from Settings.
- Widgets: choose a privacy-conscious widget presentation or remove the widget from your Home or Lock Screen.
- Photos: remove a selected photo or delete the related memory/profile item inside the app.
- Local data: archive a relationship or use the in-app erase option to remove Day With You data from the device.
You can also review Apple’s guidance on controlling app tracking permissions.
08 / Retention & deletion
Local content remains until you remove it
Your locally stored content remains on the device until you edit or erase it, reset the app’s data, or remove the app in a way that deletes its data. iOS backups may retain app data according to your device and iCloud settings. Exported .dwybackup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files.
Advertising and App Store data is retained by Google, Apple, and their service providers under their own policies and legal obligations. Day With You cannot directly delete data held independently by those providers, but the controls described above can limit future processing.
09 / Security
Protections and practical limits
Day With You uses iOS protections, including sandboxed app storage, Keychain storage for the app-lock credential, and system biometric authentication. App Lock can reduce casual access, but no device, file, or method of transmission is guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect your device passcode and treat exported backup files as sensitive.
10 / Children
Not directed to children
Day With You is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly operate a service intended to collect children’s personal information. The app’s advertising consent request is not tagged as designed for users under the age of consent. If local law requires parental permission for a younger user, a parent or guardian should review the app and the applicable platform controls.
11 / International processing
Third-party services may operate globally
Your relationship content stays local unless you choose to export or share it. Google, Apple, the site host, or a storage destination you select may process service data in countries other than your own, subject to their policies and applicable transfer safeguards.
12 / Changes
When this policy changes
We may update this policy when the app’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be updated. Material changes should be reviewed before continuing to rely on the app for sensitive content.
13 / Contact
Questions about privacy
For privacy questions or requests, use the contact route published in the Day With You Support Center. Do not attach a .dwybackup file, private photos, your PIN, or payment information.
Direct support email will be added here before the site is made public.
